Campers and camper consignment continue to be a growing industry as people look for less expensive ways to travel. And while trips in your RV are fun during the warmer seasons, there’s no reason you can’t hit the road in the winter, too!
Here are five awesome places along the east coast to visit in your camper this winter.
Bar Harbor, Maine
Maine is popular in New England when you want to hit the beach, but it’s beautiful in the winter as well. Snow dusts the trees and beaches alike, showing off Maine’s ability to be a winter wonderland, not just a summer playground. Check out Hadley’s Point Campground for a facility with hook-up sites, hot showers, and fire pits!
White Mountains, New Hampshire
Whether your winter sport is skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, or something else, there’s a spot for it in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. The views are as breathtaking in the winter covered in snow as they are in the fall when the foliage is at its peak. For a campground that encourages winter RVers, have a look at Apple Hill Campground. It also has access to a network of cross-country skiing trails!
Carolina Beach State Park, North Carolina
Would you rather head somewhere warmer for the winter? Make your way south to Carolina Beach in North Carolina! Spy venus flytraps, explore the beach, or visit the college town of Wilmington. The state park contains several campsites with varying amenities, depending on how into roughing it you are.
Crooked River State Park, Georgia
Continuing our journey south, Crooked River State Park gives campers plenty of opportunities to explore the intercoastal waterways. The mild weather makes it an ideal spot to head for if you want to escape the chill of northern winter. The campground boasts 63 sites with water and electric hook-ups, plus trail access to the beach.
Everglades National Park, Florida
If you’re a nature-lover who hates the cold, Everglades National Park is the perfect place to go this winter. It’s the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States and has no shortage of things to do. And you have a pretty good chance of seeing alligators, manatees, or even dolphins!
